Animated firefly by *DianePhotos. The suggester says, "I'm really fascinated by this work - it's quite simple, yet it seems amazingly surreal. It tells a story, - I can easily imagine the scene as one of the esential scenes in a fairytale, but it's very inspiring, too." Also suggested by ig0706.

:bulletred: WHY THIS ? :bulletred:

I needed something animated for my signature but it ended being too big... I'm also practising animation (this is my very first time animating something other than a blinky eye) for a music video project.

For the ones who'd be wondering, that's basically the way a butterfly moves : it's abdomen goes up as wings are flapping down, I watched some slow motion videos of butterflies today ;)

And YES, I KNOW this isn't how a firefly is supposed to look but it sounded better than "fire-butterfly" to me (as written in the description of my original artwork linked above) ;)

By the way, Arkanys is a RAT, not a mouse ;)

I love this animation so much. It's very original, and isnt some casual thing you see on DeviantArt every day. I love how the rat is staring at the firefly in some sort of amazement. I love how you understood light, and made it shine in the rat's eyes. That's cool, most wouldn't remember to do that!
-knuckletouch-

Yet the staring of the rat is a tad bit awkward. He/she has no movement whatsoever, which makes it look as if its a purchased house decoration. The firefly just flails its wings in the exact same position over and over, which isn't terrible for a small animation like this one, but it could've had just a few more frames.

The only other thing I must add is, at one point, the wing flapping looks like you skipped a frame. I'm not smart enough to know the exact frame, but its not tbat big of a deal anyways. I guess I can say its when the wing is spread out, and not in front of the rat... Just watch closely and you should see the part I'm talking about

Nevertheless, I adore this animation! Keep it up!
