I really can't believe how much some of you like him :fraint: I got three more notes asking for Arkanys pictures... I would have never imagined so many people would enjoy my ratties shots (especially considering rats are not well-known and suffer from a very bad reputation), that really warms my heart. Seriously guys, thank you! I've always been fighting against their bad reputation and this just made my day :heart:
I know it gets a bit redundant so I'll try to take some pics with different backgrounds soon (food might be enough I guess ^^). Here is a cute one for now, I promise I'll try to take better ones with different settings.

Arkanys, black irish dumbo rex rat, born April the 16th 2010.

He is the sweetest baby rat, the most cuddly, licky, playful and loving boy I've ever had (he can sleep on my boyfriend and I for hours then licks our hands when he wakes up, always asks for cuddles and adores to play with us).
I have always wanted to adopt black or agouti rats but I had never had the opportunity to adopt one as I do not chose my rescue ratties colors/coat/ear shape at all, I just take them home the way they are. Since Ægir is always asking for rattie friends to play, I thought it would be great to adopt young rats for once (my old ones are not playful enough).

Arkanys comes from an unwanted litter from a rescue doe, Harley, who had been abandonned by her previous owner. The foster family who rescued her didn't seem to know males and female rats shouldn't play on the same area together and the girl who adopted Harley soon discovered that she was pregnant...
I saw a video showing Harley's pups and my boyfriend and I just melt when we saw Arkanys cute little nose and white socks... So we adopted him and I must say this rattie is the cutest thingie ever and I can't believe such a small rat has so much love to give :heart:

Your pictures are adorable! And of course we want to see them! I know when I bought a rat late last year, I few people seemed confused, but later saw (and agreed) how cute she is. Unfortunately, she's really hyper and still nibbles our ears from time to time. She's done the most damage with that to my boyfriend, though.

it does infuriate me when people can look at a gorgeous, heart melting pictur like this and go "EEEWW A RAT!!" i just don't get it whatsoever!! and they've all got pet hamsters who look just the same if not, less cute!! errgh i just don't understand!! anyway i continue to try and encourage people to like them and clog up rat poisen boxes!!
