Arkanys, black irish dumbo rex rat, born April the 16th 2010.
He is the sweetest rattie ever, he's very cuddly, licky and playful. He's also quite the little clown and always make funny faces. He's a pretty smart rat who learn tricks very quickly and is also quite the friendly and glue-like rat who would do anything to be allowed to go to work with my boyfriend or follow me anywhere
Arkanys comes from an unwanted litter from a rescue doe, Harley, who had been abandonned by her previous owner. The foster family who rescued her didn't seem to know males and female rats shouldn't play on the same area together and the girl who adopted Harley soon discovered that she was pregnant... I saw a video showing Harley's pups and my boyfriend and I just melt when we saw Arkanys cute little nose and white socks... So we adopted him and I must say this rattie is the cutest thingie ever and I can't believe such a small rat has so much love to give

This is an excellent shot. The scattered pieces of scenery, the red theme, the pose, the focus... all are wonderful. Here's what I particularly like:
- Arkanys' expression. He looks guarded, and just a touch greedy, but he must be a very patient rat to let you put pomegranate seeds on his head. And I love the fact that his eyes reflect just a touch of the red around him.
- The shiny quality of the pomegranate seeds, which make this shot look lively and enticing.
- The way the eye is drawn all over the image to really explore its different parts - Arkanys' paws on his treat, all the different little clumps of seeds, the blurry background images. Despite being pretty simple as photos go, there's somehow a lot to look at.

Well done!
What is Arkanys eating, though?
