EDIT : Nope, it's NOT an anti-abortion piece... Some people mentionned about the previous one looking like an embryo and I just thought I could try to make a second piece based on this (hence the heart to make this one look like a "realistic" version of the yin-yang one).
This is actually a subject I'm pretty ill at ease with, having a true phobia of pregnancy and everything which has to do with embryos/fœtus so for the ones who mentionned the "disturbing" aspect of the picture, I can relate to this feeling...
As many people wrote about the yang shape looking like an embryo, I thought I'd give a try to a "realistic" embryo shape. The concept is similar but a bit less metaphorical
Although I've practised "bubble sculpting" for two more days, it's still damn time consuming and hard but also quite funny now that I've found the good "long-lasting bubbles" receipe
Anyway, I like how the embryo shape turned out there (especially the foot ) but I don't really like the umbilical cord "heart-shaped knot"... I've had a very hard time with this part and I'm still not fully satisfied with it but the bubbles on the embryo part started bursting so I had to stop and take the photograph else I would have had to start again
I guess I spent around 30 or 40 minutes on this one
As for my previous piece, the embryo shape is not edited, I darkened the "oil blobs" on the black part to make the background as clean as possible but I kept the original bubbles-sculpture shape. I wish I could have "sculpted" better hands and heart but I guess I'll do better next time
Canon EOS 350D Canon EF-S USM 60mm macro lens Philips Living Colors lamp Desklamps Black plate Water + sunflower oil + dishwashing liquid + strawberry syrup 2 small syringes (one with needle and one without needle) kitchen roll (it proved to be more efficient to burst bubbles than the knife I had used on my previous piece) Tablespoons
I really like this. I feel really strongly on this issue and I love that it's made of bubbles, that's so different and creative i.m.o. Sounds like a difficult process. When I saw this I thought it was a photoshop created image.
Thank you
