Description

This picture is featured in my rat photography book Fancy Rats - Portraits and Stories published by Amherst Media

Here's the daily dose of cuteness, once again ^^

Feirefiz, fawn hooded standard rat, born October the 23rd, 2010.

A very good friend of mine has taken care of a litter of 12 ratties which were meant to be used to feed snakes... she had planned to keep only one baby for herself and give the mother and babies back to her friend (the one who bred Feirefiz's mother to feed her reptiles) but she ended up loving the babies way too much so she has been searching for good homes for them (the owner was ok about that).
My boyfriend saw Feirefiz and chose him, as we had planned to adopt a baby out of this litter to avoid him getting eaten. This rattie is a very sweet and cuddly little boy, a very greedy one too

Really lovely photograph! The colour combination is perfect as well as the depth of field is spot on. You so seem to show that you have a real good grasp on your chosen concept and pull it off amazingly <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/> Also I've never seen photos like yours before, so loving the originality.
Rats are an awesome subject too, because of all the misconception they give towards people, and you've done a really nice job at converting that to cute little cuddly animals which they really are.
I love your photos and do hope to see plenty more in the future x x
