DTC Carlos, renamed Lothar by my boyfriend, mismarked capped spotted black standard eared rex rattie, born January the 29th, 2009. He comes from a French rattery with great and responsible breeding ethics (raterie De la Tarte au Citron, aka DTC) : [link]
Lothar used to live with two very nice ratties but unfortunately these were older than him and passed away two months ago. Their owner loved them very much but since Lothar remained alone then and she wasn't allowed to get any other rattie (her boyfriend is severely allergic to them), she searched for a new home for him where he could get ratties friends to play with. She was very sad to have to give him away but there was no choice left since Lothar was getting depressed... She contacted me through a french rat forum asking if I could offer him a new home (she's a friend of one of my best friends) and I accepted so she brought him today and we introduced him to my ratties. Everything went just perfect : no squeak at all, he seems to be pretty happy to have new friends
Lothar is a sweetheart, a very laid-back buck who loves licking people's hands, cuddling, exploring everything, sleeping in weird positions, chattering during photo sessions and asking for treats
Lorich, siamese seal point hooded mismarked velveteen rat, born june the 1st, 2010 (his eyes are really that dark).
Lorich is my newest boy. He comes from an unwanted litter. His mother was pregnant in a pet store and was about to give birth to her babies, she would soon have become snake food. Fortunately, a girl who was there to buy some bedding found her and took her home
Lorich is a sweetheart. He is VERY licky, very cuddly and very playful, the perfect little rat He reminds me very much of Arkanys (they have a very similar behavior) except he is a bit braver (he doesn't fear any noise ^^). He loves licking our hands, eating, having his cheeks and belly rubbed, playing, sleeping on my shoulder and tangling my hair

Nope, they don't, these little folds are mostly there to prevent them from swallowing toxic or non edible material when they are gnawing things, such as the fold between their lower teeth, which is unfortunately not visible here Thanks
Awww, so cute. I was glad to see a new pic from you right now because my hairless boys all passed away this year (the oldest only made it to 2, but then don't they usually...they had severe respiratory problems) and anyway, I wasn't actively looking for new rats but two found their way to me. I will have them home next Thursday, and apparently they are real sweeties. Anyway, seeing your pictures reminds me of what I am about to embark on again.
And something about rattie tongues is just too cute
Thanks
