Hi there !

Here's a tutorial explaining the way I take my rats photos, I hope it can be useful to people who would like to take photos of their pets but don't know how to create a "mini-studio".

This is the basic way to take some nice pictures. However you can add some light surfaces (such as white paper, aluminium foil, etc...) to make reflectors to improve the lighting of the scene, use better lightsources, etc...
This tutorial only shows the basic mini-studio anyone can do using a towel, desklamp, chair and other stuff that can be found in every house.

Do not hesitate to ask me if you have any question. I'll try to improve the tutorial as best as I can.

Thank you!

If you use it, I'd love to see the result:aww:
:+fav: and comments are very much appreciated :)

Have you ever worked with rats that were not used to being outside of their protective home? I have a rat here who is very tame, but he is not very keen on being anywhere outside of his cage other than on someone's lap. He gets panicky and tries to find a way back. His favourite treat didn't seem to work either. :(

Thanks. A very informative tutorial. I'll certainly use this at some point (perhaps on the next batch of rats ;P ) but I guess I'll need a colour lamp. Can you get similar results with a digital camera? Mine is a 12mp Samsung ES28 which was all I could afford.
