The best way to waste time... by DianePhotos The best way to waste time... by DianePhotos
... is to try to make a perfect "yin-yang" shape with soap bubbles >_<
This part looks good but I didn't photograph the whole thing as it was a perfect mess...
I ended up getting pretty annoyed with some reluctant bubbles which just kept on getting on the wrong place, this shot isn't even well focused in all places but honestly, I don't think I'll give it another try until I've got a new camera which doesn't refuses to shoot and just freezes when bubbles are finally well arranged (then of course explode before I can even turn my camera off and on again to make it work... ^^;).

Canon EOS 350D (pwease stop freezing T_T )
Canon EF-S USM 60mm macro lens
desklamps
soap bubbles on a black plate (with some oil too, as I thought it would look good, which is not the case unfortunately).

Congratulations on your persistent effort; I've tried arranging bubbles when i'm bored, and so I know it's not an easy task: Thus I praise you for arranging these bubbles into an almost perfect yin-yang.
I hope you get the camera problem sorted out!

C'est vraiment magnifique
Tu peux contrôler le délai d'arrêt automatique de l'appareil photo (ou le neutraliser) dans le menu , [arrêt auto] puis en sélectionnant [arrêt] ou une des durées proposées.

Ce n'est pas une question d'arrêt automatique, c'est juste lié à l'usure (mon appareil a presque 100 000 déclenchements à son actif, il a subi des virées photo par temps humide, il a pris quelques chocs malgré le fait que j'y aie fait aussi attention que possible...) du coup il "freeze" par fois et je suis obligée de sortir la batterie pour le redémarrer sinon plus rien ne se passe... ^^;
Merci beaucoup en tout cas !

And that's why I like Nikon better! =D lol But despite your troubles, this was a very well taken shot and the out of focus areas almost make it seem 3D by adjusting the depth of field. =3

Haha :D
Actually this is not my old camera's fault : I've taken almost 100,000 shots with it, used it in bad weather conditions at the beginning, etc... so I don't really blame it for having troubles shooting sometimes (though it's quite frustrating!). I love both Canon and Nikon, I've tried some pretty cool cameras from both and really enjoyed them. The only reason why I'm a Canon user is that my camera and lens were birthday gifts and I REALLY love the lens so I'll have to buy another Canon camera once my current one is definately out of use...
Thanks a lot by the way :)

lol Oh okay. I have a point-and-shoot that ended up having the same problems. At least with SLRs it can be fixer if taken to the right person but PaSs don't have that same luxury. ^^ But I understand that bond between a camera and photographer. =3 MY was a gift as well, a Nikon. lol Last time I used a Canon though it fell apart in a matter of 3 weeks. o-o Not the lens, the lenses are great, but it is known (or at least a rumor) that canon bodies aren't well constructed. Anyway. xD Just kinda went on a little rant there. x3
And of course no worries. =3 You have some wonderful shots in your gallery. ^^

I agree with Otas32, adding glycerin to the water will make the bubble last a lot longer. I had to do a shoot with body wash once, it was such a pain until someone suggested glycerin... then it was less of a pain, lol.

This is really nice. I'm digging the symmetry, I really like how the top right and bottom left corners have just a touch of the opposite color, it really makes it look like there's more to what's just shown here, and helps to balance the picture. The only issue I have is the fact that the black isn't solid, and there's highlights showing from the oil you added. I think it would look better if the only texture was the bubbles, and the black was solid and looked matte.

Either way, I can certainly appreciate the amount of work you put into this, and I like it a lot :)
