Meet Lothar, the rattie I got today... he's already friend with my ratties (he had lived alone for two months since he lost his old friend and was perfectly healthy without having had any contact with any other rat so the usual 2 weeks quarantine were not needed).
DTC Carlos, renamed Lothar by my boyfriend, mismarked capped spotted black standard eared rex rattie, born January the 29th, 2009. He comes from a French rattery with great and responsible breeding ethics (raterie De la Tarte au Citron, aka DTC) : www.tartaucitron.fr/raterie/
Lothar used to live with two very nice ratties but unfortunately these were older than him. Their owner loved them very much but since Lothar remained alone when his older friends died and she wasn't allowed to get any other rattie (her boyfriend is severely allergic to them), she searched for a new home for him where he could get ratties friends to play with.
She was very sad to have to give him away but there was no choice left since Lothar was getting depressed...
She contacted me through a french rat forum asking if I could offer him a new home (she's a friend of one of my best friends) and I accepted so she brought him today and we introduced him to my ratties. Everything went just perfect : no squeak at all, he seems to be pretty happy to have new friends
Lothar is a sweetheart, a very laid-back buck who loves licking people's hands, cuddling, exploring everything, sleeping in weird positions, chattering during photo sessions and asking for treats
Thjazi, siamese seal point hooded mismarked standard rat, born june the 1st, 2010 (his eyes are really that dark), he's Lorich's brother.
I was meant to foster him and his other brother Thorim for some days until their owner can take them to their new home but she never called back (I waited for over 2 months) so I adopted them both. Thjazi (he was originally called Hermes) is a VERY licky and cuddly boy, very playful too, always asking to play and the first one to say hello every morning. Good I could finally keep him ^^
